| No! Check out this list of scriptures and prophecies
that show that many people can still come around to spiritual enlightenment and
repentance. Melchizekek (to whom Abraham paid tithes ) preached to his people (in
Salem, later Jerusalem) and they all repented. "Now this Melchizedek was a king
over the land of Salem; and his people had waxed strong in iniquity and abomination...but
Melchizedek having exercised mighty faith, and received the office of the high
priesthood...did preach repentance unto his people, and behold, they did repent; and
Melchizedek did establish peace in the land in his days...." (Alma 13:17-8)
The alegory of the olive tree states many times that the Lord and His servants will
work until "the good shall overcome the bad" (Jacob 5:66, 59).
An ancient philosophy taught that there is a fixed amount of good and bad in the
universe--therefore if you do something good, you use some of it up and bad must occur
elsewhere. You can't win, you can't get ahead. Jacob 5:66 shows this to be opposite of the
truth: "wherefore ye shall clear away the bad according as the good shall
grow...until the good shall overcome the bad." more

So How Do You Do It? You begin by living the
gospel yourself. Treat others with respect and love. Spend some time reading and pondering
the scriptures. Pray--if you can go for five minutes, there's a good chance you'll get the
hang of it and won't want to stop. Need something to pray about? Pray for others. Get
started along this path, keep going, and everything will eventually fall into place before
you.
Alma 26:22 "Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth
faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasting--unto such
is is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal
things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring
thousands of souls to repentance...." |
