Tips for Breaking Out of the TV Cycle
First off, don't arrange your furniture so everyone's forced to stare at the tube. Makes it a lot harder to ignore or think of something better to do.
read instead. it's great. learn to speed read, get practice. read for pleasure and escape, just like you normally do with tv, and you'll get a lot more from it and feel great, too.
go outside! if the air's clean where you live, you'll feel better isntantly. if not, find a few places where you can walk or just sit. get a friend or three to go along with you--making a commitment to each other makes it a lot easier when the time comes around to actually pull yourself off the couch.
