Put Process to Work

To really benefit from processes, know yourself. Consider your education. You’re spending a great deal of time, money, and stress to get that slip of paper—why? If you don’t know your own motives, you might be following the wrong process.

Too many students are in school only to get done with it. Their process involves doing the bare minimum to get by. They skim the assigned chapters of the text, if that. They write their papers the day before a draft is due. The bulk of their revision is done the night before the final draft is due. They will most likely finish school right on track with their goals: they will graduate with a bare minimum of education.

Other educational goals might include getting a good job in the future, enjoying learning for its own sake, self improvement, all of the above, or some of the above.

The fact that you’re reading this may give you a clue as to your own goals. You are at least willing to learn and look for information beyond the minimum requirement. If you continually follow this way of living…look down the road and you can see that you will have more wisdom and success.
