Reading examples of other students' work can provide you with ideas of how to approach your own paper and writing in general. Reading writing similar to that which you plan to create often teaches you things without you even noticing. Simply reading through a number of these papers can make your own paper turn out better and save you time writing and revising.
If you find a topic you would like to write a paper about, feel free to draw from ideas presented here, but be sure that you don't copy sections directly from these papers (see plagiarism). With the many approaches possible with each topic, you should have no trouble making your paper fresh and new.
You may also wish to check out the new (maybe still too new and nothing's there yet--sorry) section full of exercises to help you develop various writing skills.
If you'd like your paper to be featured on a future version of the Writing Center, feel free to contact us (or just submit it as an attatchment).
